WHAT IS POLARITY THERAPY?
Polarity Therapys works with the electromagnetic patterns expressed in mental, emotional and physical experience, known as the Human Energy Field. In Polarity Therapy, health is the reflection of the condition of this energy field, and therapeutic methods are designed to balance these fields for health benefit.
In Massage therapy we work to help keep the soft tissues flexible and resilant, Polarity works to keep the Energy Fields in an open, flexible condition to elimate imbalances or blocked areas and to free us from pain and disease.
Polarity Therapy was developed by Dr. Randolph Stone, DO, DC, ND (1890-1981), who conducted a thorough investigation of energy in the healing arts over the course of his 60-year medical career.
A TYPICAL POLARITY SESSION:Sessions are done with clothes on. Based on an intake form specific to Polarity and after talking with you, your practioner will assess the best way to work energetically with you and will combine the information you provided with the sensations and information she recieves while working with you inuitively . The quality of touch during your session usually varies from light to heavy very soft to occasional deep and may include a rocking of the body.
In the session you will often become aware of subtle energetic sensations, that may be experienced as a tingling, a warmth expanding or wave like movement. The results of Polarity Therapy sessions are unique to the individual but often include profound relaxation, an understanding of energetic patterns and their implications, and relief from numerous specific problematic situations such as hypertension, anxiety attacks and breathing disorders.
